ISAIAH 7:1-9
PSALM 48
MATTHEW 11:20-24

"The heart of the king and the heart of the people trembled, as the trees of the forest tremble in the wind."

This trembling occurs when Jerusalem is attacked.

Isaiah is sent to remind the king and the people that they can be tranquil and at peace if they trust in the Lord.

When we trust in self, in our wisdom, in our technology we have reason to fear and tremble.

We are called to be firm by having firm faith.

Jesus reproaches the towns that
have not listened,
have not understood
and have not repented.

The reproach may apply to us.
We have seen great deeds,
we have received great gifts.

May we
listen,
understand and
repent.
