| The Baptistry: The Baptistry is constructed separate from the Church with its own foundation and ceiling to show our separation from the Church until we are baptized. As we enter the Baptistry and notice the black walls, it is to serve as a reminder that through the Sacrament of Baptism we are transferred from darkness to light. |

Our Baptismal and holy water fonts are placed together in direct line with the Altar to show that Baptism leads to the Eucharist. The holy water is connected to remind us of our Baptismal commitment to Christ. We should think of this each time we use the holy water to bless ourselves. |
| Reconciliation Room: The Reconciliation Room located at the rear of the inner Church, is built into one wall of the Baptistry to symbolize the relationship between the two sacraments. Both sacraments remove sin -- Baptism original sin, Penance, personal sin. |
| What began as architecture by worship, not worship by architecture, explains many of the features of St. Patrick's Church. |
